What mechanical experiments need to be done for plastic films

What mechanical experiments need to be done for plastic films.

Plastic films are films made of polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, and other resins, used for packaging, and used as lamination layers.

The plastic packaging and plastic packaging products supplied by DAPOLY group account for an increasing share of the market and have been widely used in food, medicine, chemical and other fields. The biodegradable film of DAPOLY group has passed the national quality and international quality standards. requirements.

1. Tensile performance test of plastic film

1) The tensile property test is mainly to determine whether the tensile strength of the plastic film material can meet the requirements of the national standard. To provide the basis for research, development, engineering design and product quality control of plastic films. Thin films encounter certain difficulties during tensile testing. The cut edge of the tensile specimen must be free of scratches and cracks to avoid premature rupture of the film from these areas. For thinner films, there are challenges with the chucks of the tensile testing machine. Therefore, we need to pay attention to avoid the slip of the clip of the tensile testing machine or the rupture of the sample at the clip. So how to avoid this situation, we can protect the chuck with a thin rubber coating or gauze without affecting the test operation. so as to achieve better results. The tensile test of plastic film can obtain the material performance parameters such as tensile modulus, elongation at break, yield stress and strain, tensile strength and tensile fracture energy of plastic film.

2) Reference standard for tensile test of plastic film

GB/T 1040-1992 "Test methods for tensile properties of plastics" is generally applicable to thermoplastic and thermosetting materials, including filled and fiber-reinforced plastic materials and plastic products. Suitable for materials with thickness greater than 1mm.

GB/T13022-1991 "Test method for tensile properties of plastic films" is equivalent to adopting the international standard ISO1184-1983 "Determination of tensile properties of plastic films". It is suitable for plastic films and sheets with a thickness of less than 1mm. This method is not suitable for tensile properties testing of reinforced films, microporous sheets and microporous films.

2. Plastic film tear test:

Tear performance is generally used to evaluate the tear resistance of plastic films and sheets and other similar plastic materials.

When plastic film is used in food and medicine packaging materials, it is required to have certain mechanical properties such as tensile strength, impact resistance and tear resistance. The tear strength of the film is one of the very important properties, because the bag may be punctured and damaged during storage and transportation. Sufficient tear resistance can reduce the transmission of tear and avoid sealing Bad environment or leaks, leaking packages, etc.

Likewise, excessive tear strength also creates difficulties for consumers to use to open the package. Therefore, the tear strength test is an important indicator to verify the strength of plastic film materials, and it has important reference significance for the quality control of plastic films and packaging bags in the production process and the improvement of performance.

GB/T 16578-1996 "Test method for tear resistance of plastic films and sheets" is equivalent to using the international standard ISO 6383-1:1983 "Plastics - Films and sheets - Determination of tear resistance No. 1 Part; trouser tear method" is suitable for soft films or sheets with a thickness of less than 1mm. The test method is to pre-cut a rectangular sample with a certain length of incision in the middle, like a pair of trousers. Hence the name pants-shaped tearing method. Then at a constant tearing speed, the force required to tear the crack down the incision. Use the same non-pendulum type testing machine as the tensile tester.

QB/T1130-1991 "Test method for right-angle tearing properties of plastics" is applicable to films, sheets and other similar plastic materials. The test method is to cut the sample into a sample with a 90¡ã right-angle mouth, clamp the sample on the fixture of the tensile testing machine, and the force method of the sample is perpendicular to the direction of the sample. Tensile at a certain speed, and the test result takes the maximum force value during the tearing process as the right-angle tearing load. If the sample is too thin, multiple samples can be stacked for testing. However, the results for the monolithic and stacked specimens are not comparable. Laminate specimens are not suitable for foam sheets.

GB/T11999-1989 "Test method for tear resistance of plastic films and sheets" is equivalent to the international standard ISO 6383/2-1983 "Determination of tear resistance of plastic films and sheets - the second Part: The Elemendorff Law is applicable to soft plastic films, composite films and sheets, but not to harder materials such as polyvinyl chloride and nylon. The principle is to make the sample with the specified incision withstand the tearing force generated by the energy stored by the pendulum of the specified size, and calculate the tear resistance of the sample by the energy consumed by tearing the sample.

3. Plastic film peeling test: The peeling force and the minimum force can be obtained. The parameters mainly correspond to de-heading and de-tailing. There are conventional 90-degree and 180-degree peels, which mainly determine how much force it takes to pull two different materials together.

Film peeling force testing machine execution standard:

GB/T4850-2002 Determination of low-speed unwinding strength of pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes;

GB8808-1988 Test method for peeling of soft composite plastic materials;

GB/T2790-1995 Test method for 180 degree peel strength of adhesives;

GB/T2791-1995 Adhesive T peel strength test method;

GB2792-1998 pressure sensitive adhesive tape 180 peel strength test method;

ASTMD3330/D3330M-2004(2010) Test method for peel adhesion of pressure sensitive tapes;

GB7753-1987 Test method for tensile properties of pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes;

QB/T2358-1998 Test method for heat sealing strength of plastic film packaging bags;

GB13022-1991 Test method for tensile properties of plastic films.

4. Plastic film sealing test: The sealing strength can be obtained by using the sealing test. This test is related to the width and thickness of the specimen.

DAPOLY group supply different film products like biodegradable film, mulch film/ground film, greenhouse film and packaging use wraping film etc, quality higher than the requests of National quality standard and international standard.
